Dr. Dewayne Winrow

Dr. Winrow's pursuit of the ministry began shortly after his baptism at the age of nine. His preparation includes being a "boy preacher" under the mentorship of Marshall Keeble as a student of the Nashville Christian Institute (N.C.I.), and a graduate of Southwestern Christian College (SwCC). He received academic scholarships to attend Pepperdine University where he completed an undergraduate degree (B.A.) in biblical studies and a Master’s of Science degree (M.S.) in Ministry. Dr. Winrow was awarded the James Irvine Fellowship to attend the University of Southern California where he earned a Master's of Arts degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Religion and Social Ethics. While attending USC and upon completing his Doctorate, Dr. Winrow was employed by Pepperdine University as a full-time Professor of biblical studies and social ethics.


In the year 2000, Dr. Winrow returned to full-time church ministry. Dr. Winrow presently serves as Senior Minister of the Reseda boulevard Church of Christ (formerly the Vaughn Street church). In his ministerial role, he has served the local brotherhood as a Panelist and speaker for The Way of Truth Television Program sponsored by the local churches of the Los Angeles brotherhood; the speaker for The Lord's Time Television Program produced and sponsored by the Vaughn Street congregation; the speaker and producer of What Saith The Scriptures radio program; and was elected Chairman of the Los Angeles area Ministers and Leaders Breakfast Fellowship for several terms. Dr. Winrow is committed to expository and exegetical preaching. He has been ardently an advocate and defender of the faith "once delivered to the saints."


In addition to his accomplishments in academia and the church, Dr. Winrow is the founder and Executive Director of Lifecircles Unlimited Inc., which contracts with local and state agencies to provide a number of social service programs that address humanitarian and community needs. He has received numerous awards for outstanding community service. He is listed in "Who's Who Among Outstanding Young Men of America. He was acknowledged with a Resolution from the City of Los Angeles for his community leadership. He has served as an Executive Board Member of the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the NAACP. In 1983, the NAACP nominated him for the "Pastor of the Year" award. He has received numerous Certificates of Recognition from city and county officials for civic involvement.


Dr. Winrow married Margaret (Bass) of Brownsville TN and has celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage. They are the proud parents of four children and eight grandchildren.
